There are some things in life we just can't do without: good music, good food, and Sharks hockey. Think about it: when was the last time you heard Nickelback and wished that you had either a rock to throw at the lead singer or a welding torch to cauterize your earholes? Thanks to the invention of good music you don’t have to treat your auditory canals to the same temperature that metal likes to melt at. However, thanks to jerks that make cars, one of the only bands left that makes good music is down a man due to a car accident. Seriously, the mother of Chi has some good advice on the page, and has a daily good deed for you to do. So check it out.
But that whole thing is a little too serious. Two big news items for the week: Left 4 Dead, and Thanksgiving. Which, if you really consider it, have a lot in common. Let us explore:
Thanksgiving is a holiday in which we feast on dead flesh, gorging ourselves until we can’t move.
Zombies are dead beings that like to feast on living flesh, gorging themselves until we stop moving.
Thanksgiving forces us to travel usually hundreds of miles back to a central gathering spot where we hang out with our families, who are usually people we don’t really want to be around because we don’t want to believe they are the same blood as us.
Zombies force us to run hundreds of miles in search of other people, forcing us to congregate and find people that we usually wouldn’t want to hang out with, (seems like the only people left will be bikers, commandos, and cheerleaders. And naturally a black guy.) hoping they aren’t dumb enough to shoot us instead of a zombie.
Thanksgiving is accompanied by football games, like the Army Navy game, which you probably won’t care about.
Zombies don’t really care about football either. Especially the shitty teams they have playing during Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is a celebration of how we found a new land and systematically took the land that the natives lived on. Also a celebration of the harvest.
Zombies one day will rule the land, but I doubt actually that they would make decent farmers.
So do yourselves a favor and pick up Left 4 Dead (and do a good deed and pick up copies for 3 of your closest friends) and play it over Thanksgiving. It’ll only be a matter of time until someone makes a “Cowboys vs. Indians” mod. Thankfulness would also be good, and don’t forget to study. Next update won’t take so long. Also with more hyperlinks!
